In this workshop, we are going back to the basics!

In this workshop, I shall be teaching the fundamentals of chiffon making. You will learn all the basics skills necessary to make fabulously tall and soft chiffon cakes!

The first cake we will make is a dark cocoa hojicha marble chiffon cake. If you love tea, then you will love this chiffon cake as the deep intense flavor of hojicha is paired with dark chocolate to make cake not just beautiful, but also super delicious!

We are also baking a very very tender gula melaka banana chiffon cake. This is a cake that needs no introduction for those who have grown up with the familiar flavor of gula melaka which sees its partner in local bananas and the result is a totally aromatic and soft chiffon cake!

If you love chiffon cakes, then this is definitely the one workshop you don't want to miss!

What you will learn: 

  • 2 chiffon cake recipes 
  • How to make the right meringue
  • How to fold meringue
  • How process incorporate flavors into chiffon cakes

What you will prepare:

  • One 6" Dark Chocolate Hojicha Chiffon Cake
  • Two 4" Gula Melaka Banana Chiffon Cakes

What the fee includes:

  • Ingredients for the class
  • Use of kitchen equipment
  • Aprons
  • Containers for bringing cakes home
  • Recipe printout

Class structure:

  • Introduction to ingredients
  • Demonstration by Chef Diana Gale
  • Interactive hands-on baking session

Participants are to bring their own pen for the class if they wish to take notes. Participants may be asked to share workspace depending on recipe.

The maximum class size is 6. Classes will start with a minimum of 4 participants. Fees paid are non-refundable, and if a participant is absent for a workshop, no make-ups will be conducted. Fees paid cannot be transferred to another workshop. Participants can send someone to come for the class in his/her place, failing which a copy of the recipe will be sent to him/her.

In the event that the minimum number of participants is not met, the class will either be postponed or cancelled. Participants will be informed via email in which an alternative date for the class will be provided. In the event of a cancellation, all monies paid will be refunded.

Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Full payment must be made at the point of registration.
Videography is not allowed for this workshop.

The Domestic Goddess Wannabe reserves the right to change the venue of the workshop in the event that the studio is not available. Participants will be notified via email should there be a change.
